GRC Hydro has been appointed by Snowy Mountains Regional Council to undertake the Cooma, Bredbo Michelago and Berridale Flood Study and Floodplain Risk Management Study, in partnership SMEC Australia. The towns are located in or near the upper catchment of the Murrumbidgee River and present technically complex flood behaviour. GRC Hydro engineers will be drawing upon their strong experience in small rural NSW catchments to deliver Council practical solutions to current and future flood risk.

GRC Hydro recently completed the hydrological assessment as part of the Canberra Light Rail Project. The assessment, which examined the flood behaviour along the rail alignment and the impact of the light rail on design flood events, used a detailed hydraulic model established for the area’s subcatchments.
GRC Hydro is proud to announce Beth Marson has joined our quickly expanding company. Beth has 5 years experience working in the field of flooding and floodplain management and is well known for her strong technical background. She has experience with a wide range of modelling software, with particular proficiencies in establishing WBNM and TUFLOW models across a wide range of catchment types. Beth has implemented ARR 2016 techniques in several studies to date and is likely one of the more experienced practitioners in Australia in this regard.
